STANDARDS

Methodology

How The Markets Edition collects, labels and explains financial information.

01

1. Primary sources first

Company disclosure claims are linked to SEC EDGAR or the company’s official investor-relations publication. Policy and macro claims link to the issuing institution whenever possible.

02

2. Market-data labels

Quotes are described as delayed or end-of-day and include the available observation date. If a feed fails, the interface reports that failure instead of inserting demonstration prices.

03

3. Facts, inference and opinion

A verified fact is kept separate from editorial interpretation. We do not state that an event caused a market move unless the evidence supports that conclusion. We do not provide personalized investment advice.

04

4. Automated collection

Public feeds are checked automatically. Automated collection can be incomplete or temporarily unavailable, so readers should verify important information at the linked primary source.
